Does the Rise of Creatinine, BUN, Urea Acid Mean Kidney Damage

Creatinine, BUN and urea acid are all references which can reflect the renal function. However, their level can rise for the time being due to factors such as strenuous exercise, high protein diet, and so on. There are also other factors which can lead to increased creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and urea acid such as water lost, acute bleeding, shock, blocking of urinary tract, and so on. In addition, patients with gout have high urea acid in most of time. So we can get a conclusion that the rise of creatinine, urea acid and blood urea acid does not always mean kidney damage. However, if their level rises a lot, after we control the influencing factor, they still rise, we should consider whether the renal function is damaged or not.
