Can Kidney Disease Patients Have Watermelon?

Summer is coming. Watermelon is on sale. Watermelon contains kinds of nutritious substances, can dispel thirst and inflammation in the body, which is popular in summer. Can patients with kidney disease have watermelon? In most of time, watermelon is good for patients for it can promote appetite, help digestion, and can lower blood pressure at the same time.
However, those who have severe oedema should attend to the amount of watermelon they take in, for water melon contains too much water, which should be considered or else edema will worsen.
Patients with diabetic nephropathy should have less watermelon for it contains sugar. In patients with diabetic nephropathy, the blood sugar is high. If they take in too much watermelon, the blood sugar level will rise, which will worsen renal fibrosis. Patients will develop into renal failure earlier.
