Differences between Blood Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Haemodialysis

Haemodialysis is a common means which is widely used in patients whose kidney fails to work. Many patients are confused about the differences of them, the fundamental purpose of which is the same. However, there are also some differences between them or we can also say, compared with blood haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis has some advantages, which go as follows:
Considering the operation, peritoneal dialysis is more convenient and easy to do. Patients can move here and there while they are under peritoneal dialysis. In addition, patients can also have it at home, which will save a lot of time when they are on the way to hospital.
2. Peritoneal Haemodialysis is more widely used in clinic. It is a continuous system, and need no circulation outside of the body, which is suitable for those who have had severe cardiovascular, cranial vascular disease and diabetes. In addition, it is also fit for advanced people. What’s more, peritoneal dialysis has not much limitation on diet and can also avoid the suffering when patients are doing blood dialysis, which is more suitable for children. When patients are receiving blood dialysis, there will be a puncture.
3. Peritoneal Haemodialysis is more efficient than that of blood haemodialysis, which can relieve the symptoms of uremia such as anemia, and so on.
4. Peritoneal haemodialysis is a kind of treatment which is similar with the physical condition. In the process, there is no change in hemodynamics, content of blood volume, and so on, which reduces the complications when under dialysis such as high blood pressure, low blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and imbalances syndrome, and so on.
5. Peritoneal haemodialysis needs no arteriovenous fistula, which is more suitable for those with diabetic nephropathy.
