When kidney disease develops into end-stage renal disease (ESRD), many people
want to try kidney transplant for their own kidney fails and a donated kidney
can really help us survive especially for patients with polycystic kidney
disease, etc. Every coin has two sides. The same goes for kidney transplant.
Firstly, it has risk for end stage renal disease patients will suffer an
operation, which will surely have risk. Some even die in the operation. Although
the kidney transplant is successful, patients should take in medicine for the
rest life to make the body adapt to the donated kidney.
Secondly, the donated kidney is hard to get. In some countries, kidney
failure patients even wait for the donated kidney as long as 10 years some of
them die while waiting.
Thirdly, even if the kidney transplant is successful, the lifespan of the
donated kidney is also limited. Why? As we mentioned above, most kidney diseases
are caused by immune disorder. Antigen and antibody forms immune complex, which
can be divided into one existing in blood and that deposits onto the surface of
the kidney. Our kidney will not allow the immune complex to stay, which leads to
a series of immune complex, thus causing damage to the kidney. After a long
time, the donated kidney will also be damaged.
So if we want to treat end-stage renal disease (ESRD) from root, we should
control the immune reaction. On the basis of this, in Shijiazhuang Kidney
Disease Hospital, we researched immunotherapy, which is more advanced and
systematic compared with western medicine such as hormone and immunosuppressive
agent, which can only stop the immune reaction in the blood for the time being
but can not stop the immune reaction in the kidney. This is the limitation of
westen medicine. But in our Hospital, the immunotherapy also contains Chinese
Medicine, which can increase the immunity as well as clear away the immune
complex onto the kidney. In addition, stem cell can also be applied if
necessary, which can repair the damaged intrinsic cells, differentiate into the
necrotic ones and increase the immunity.
After immunotherapy, kidney function can revive and patients with end-stage
renal disease (ESRD) needn’t do kidney transplant.
