Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is autoimmune disease, about 90% of which can
lead to damage in kidney. Symptoms of these diseases can affect many different
body systems, including joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, heart, and
lungs.
To begin with, we should have a brief introduction why immune disease comes
into being. As long as we live, our body will fight with the pathological
factors such as bacteria and virus with immune system such as white blood cells
to keep us healthy. The bacteria and virus are called antigen and the cells
which defend are called antibody. The combination of antigen and antibody is
called immune complex, which is usually called cycling immune complex.
In normal condition, the recycling immune complex flow through kidney
together with blood circulation, deposit on kidney, and the intrinsic immune
system can discharge them out. However, when the immune system is damaged, the
immune complex cannot be discharged out, so they will deposit and lead to a
series of excessive immune response.
In western countries, immune inhibiting is used such as hormones and
immunosuppressive agent which can stop the excessive immune response for
patients with Lupus Nephritis. However, as we mentioned in the above articles,
when kidney disease takes place, immune complex has deposited in the kidney
already, which means that there will be further immune reaction.
Accordingly, experts researched out immunotherapy by our own, which can be
divided into 6 steps: immune diagnosis, immune inhibition, immune clearance,
immune tolerance, immune adjustment, immune protection.
Compared with hormones and immunosuppressive agent in western medicine, we
mainly introduce steps from immune clearance. In immune clearance steps, we
mainly clear away the immune complex which lies in the blood with plasma
exchange in particular. Here pay attention that in this step, we mainly use
blood purification technology, which can only clear away those in blood and can
not clear those deposit onto kidney.
In immune adjustment, immune protection steps, we mainly use Chinese
medicine, which can improve the blood circulation, including micro-blood
circulation and dissolve the blood stasis, and clear away the immune complex
which deposit onto the kidney, thus stopping immune reaction eventually. In
addition, stem cells are also applied, which can also increase the immunity as
well as traditional Chinese medicine.
