How to Prevent Hypertensive Nephropathy?

Hypertensive Nephropathy is a secondary kidney disorder which is caused by long time high blood pressure or hypertension. It is said that at present there are more than 90 million people in China who are suffering from kidney disease, 30% of whom are caused by high blood pressure or hypertension.
How high blood pressure damages kidney?
Long time high blood pressure can make the inner pressure in the blood rise, which leads to the leaking out of protein into urine. In this case, the filtration net of kidney will be damaged, thus causing vicious circle. If it lasts for a long time, the condition will be hard to reverse. The compensation ability of kidney will increase, so patients will develop into renal failure in advance.
How to prevent high blood pressure developing into Hypertensive Nephropathy?
1. monitor or control the blood pressure
From the pathological mechanism, we can know the initial and essential thing we should do is to monitor and control the blood pressure. High blood pressure can begin with youngsters and those whose parents have high blood pressure. If both of the parents have high blood pressure, their child has 46% rate of getting this disease. So it is put forward that those who are more than 35 years old should have blood pressure test in particular so as to get timely treatment.
2. control the body weight
Obesity is a main factor which leads to high blood pressure. It is reported that the rate of high blood pressure for the fat people is 4 times higher than that of those who are not fat.
3. control blood fat
Keep the fat in blood normal. People should have less animal fat and those which is rich in cholesterol, which can lead to atherosclerosis, thus influencing kidney as well.
4. stop smoking and drinking wine and alcohol
Both smoking and drinking wine and alcohol will increase blood pressure. Tobacco in cigarettes and cigars contains nicotine which constricts the walls of the blood vessels. Because the chemicals in the smoke constrict your blood vessels, making it harder for the heart to pump blood to all of your body. It beats harder, which makes your blood pressure rise. Like a hose turned all the way up, but the nozzle is closed, eventually the hose will burst.
5. taking exercise
Regular physical activity — at least 30 to 60 minutes most days of the week — can lower your blood pressure by 4 to 9 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). And it doesn't take long to see a difference. If you haven't been active, increasing your exercise level can lower your blood pressure within just a few weeks.
6. eat a healthy diet
Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm Hg.
